Below is a devotional scripture reading from the January 26th entry of Daily Light For Your Daily Path by Samuel Bagster.
Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. ♦ For we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. ♦ If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ♦ Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. ♦ Choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.
