Below is a devotional scripture reading from the January 31st entry of Daily Light For Your Daily Path by Samuel Bagster.
“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell.”
Fight the good fight of faith. ♦ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments … and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. ♦ But I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. ♦ We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
