The Holy Spirit is to Convict the World of Sin

John 16:7-11:
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”

Paul Washer:
“If you are properly going to expound the word, you must make much of sin. You must expose sin, you must define sin, you must explain it specifically, so that the word of God cuts into the heart of men. . . I have heard one preacher who says, ‘We do not speak about sin in our church.’ Then I can tell him that the Holy Spirit of God does not work in his church, nor in his ministry. Why? Because one of the principle ministries of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin. So if you do not talk much about sin, count on it, the Holy Spirit is not much in your ministry. . . You must expose sin. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin.”

Result – Sin ft. Shai Linne & IV Conerly (lyrics)

We all got it in us
Some claim sinless
I just take that as just them admitting it
1 John 1:10, tell me who you kiddin
Stop eisegeting the text
Tell me what’s written
In context, it’s not complex
I confess, my sin, yes
I’m vexed, but there’s progress
No secrets to digest
I regurgitate deceit
Lasciviousness
Come on people
Don’t pretend like you don’t see this
Started from two adults
Spread it to every fetus
Except Jesus
Came, healed diseases
Cast out demons
By blood redeemed us
I used to love the world like Demas
Man, look what I did
Lord, lead us
Cuz look at what we love to please us
You died for the ex this
And that blashphemers

If you are properly going to expound the word, you must make much of sin. You must expose sin, you must define sin, you must explain it specifically, so that the word of God cuts into the heart of men.

All praise to Him
Even if this world is a stage for sin
Adam’s desindants
Are sintertainers
Cast in sinemas
Infants, adolesints
Adults, peasints, and sinators
No sincorship
Meant to sintoxicate
Think about it
Sin’s there when you consintrate
At the cross
Sin was sintralized
Cuz at the fall
Men in sin were sinchronized
So take a sinsus
What would the persintage be
Of sinners in the twenty-first sintury?
A condesinding storm
Attempts to insinuate innosince
You’re misinformed
Sin’s insintive’s not sinsitive
Romans 6:23 is what the sintence is
This is essintial
We even sin when we’re sincere
Or sintimental
Puts us at the sinter
If nobody’s getting better then
The sint of death must be on your medisine

See, our society is Sodom
Sin-saturated
Stagnated, sans spiritual
Strength sapped, sedated
Satan snaring us
Systematically stabbing us
Sin-sick, self-centered, sadistic savages
Sin’s tsunami seduce some silently
Some sacrilegious
Some sin solemnly
Sleezy, salacious
Some in sexuality
Searching for security
Salivating for salaries
Psychos and scandals
Sinister swindlers
Sizable samples
Sin is so similar
We’re supposed to be
Soberly Messiah-seeking
Scheming, we savor sin like sight-seeing
Sinful souls shall suffer scorching showers
From the sacred stainless supernatural scowler
Singular solution
I state with simplicity:
Seek salvation
The Savior’s sufficiency

. . .
Because one of the principle ministries of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin. So if you do not talk much about sin, count on it, the Holy Spirit is not much in your ministry. You must expose sin. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of sin.
